1. What this site is and isn’t
Commodity.com is a financial information website operated by Moneda Media LLC. We publish educational content about commodity markets, provide commodity price charts and data, and compare regulated brokers that offer commodity trading.
What we are
- An information resource about commodities – energy, metals, agriculture, and livestock
- A broker comparison service that helps you evaluate regulated trading platforms
- A publisher of market data including commodity prices, charts, and historical trends
- An affiliate business – we earn commissions when you open accounts with brokers through our links (see Section 8 and our affiliate disclosure)
What we are not
- We are not financial advisors. Nothing on this site constitutes personalized investment advice.
- We are not a broker or trading platform. We do not execute trades, hold funds, or manage accounts.
- We are not a signals service. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any commodity or financial instrument. Our team may personally hold positions in assets we cover – see our conflict of interest policy.
- We are not regulated as a financial services provider. Our role is informational, not advisory.
If you need personalized financial advice, consult a licensed financial advisor in your jurisdiction.
2. Acceptance of terms
By accessing and using Commodity.com (the “Site”), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Site.
We may update these terms at any time (see Section 18). Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
3. Sites and services
These Terms of Use apply to all content and services provided through Commodity.com, including:
- The Commodity.com website and all pages within it
- Commodity price data, charts, and market information
- Broker comparison tables and reviews
- Educational articles and guides
- Email newsletters (if you subscribe)
- Any widgets or embeddable tools we make available (see Section 13)
4. Minors
Commodity.com is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you are under 18, do not use this Site. If you believe a minor has accessed the Site and provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
5. No individual investment advice
This is the most important section on this page. Please read it carefully.
Nothing on Commodity.com constitutes, or is intended to constitute, individual financial advice, investment advice, trading advice, or any other form of personalized recommendation. All content on this Site is provided for general information and educational purposes only.
Specifically:
- Any opinions, news, research, analysis, prices, or other information on this Site is provided as general market commentary and does not constitute investment advice.
- We do not take into account your personal financial situation, investment objectives, risk tolerance, or specific needs. You should seek independent advice from a qualified financial advisor before making any investment decisions.
- Past performance is not indicative of future results. Commodity markets are volatile, and prices can move substantially in short periods.
- Trading commodities, CFDs (Contracts for Difference), futures, and other financial derivatives involves substantial risk of loss. You should not invest money you cannot afford to lose.
- We will not accept liability for any loss or damage, including without limitation any loss of profit, which may arise directly or indirectly from use of or reliance on information on this Site.
For our full risk disclaimers, see our legal disclaimers page.
6. Price data and market information
Commodity.com displays price data, charts, and market information sourced from third-party data providers. You should understand the following about this data:
Data sources
- Our primary commodity price data is provided by TwelveData (currencies, cryptocurrencies, and commodities) and MetalPriceAPI (precious metals spot prices).
- Historical price data is sourced from third-party providers and may vary in coverage and completeness depending on the commodity and time period.
Data limitations
Prices displayed on this site are delayed. Do not use Commodity.com prices for trading decisions. Always verify prices with your broker’s live trading platform before placing trades.
- Not real-time quotes. Prices shown on Commodity.com are delayed. We endeavor to be clear about the extent of delay on each page (e.g., “cached for 60 seconds”, “daily close prices”), but we cannot guarantee that delay information is always accurate or up to date. They are indicative, not executable.
- For informational purposes only. Charts, price tables, and historical data are provided to help you understand market trends. They are not trading signals.
- Provided “as is.” Price data and market information are provided without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
- Data gaps may occur. Weekend and holiday data, illiquid commodities, and recently listed instruments may have incomplete or missing data points.
- Historical data sourced from third parties. While we make reasonable efforts to verify accuracy, we do not guarantee that historical price data is complete or error-free.
We are not responsible for any trading losses or decisions made based on price data displayed on this Site. See our full legal disclaimers and our methodology page for details on data sourcing.
7. Regulatory landscape
Commodity.com serves users in more than 100 countries. Financial regulation varies significantly between jurisdictions, and it is your responsibility to understand and comply with the laws that apply to you.
Key regulatory differences
| Topic | What you need to know |
|---|---|
| CFDs | CFDs (Contracts for Difference) are not available to retail traders in the United States. They are legal but heavily regulated in the EU, UK, and Australia. Rules vary elsewhere. |
| Cryptocurrency | Cryptocurrency trading and commodity-crypto derivatives are subject to rapidly changing regulation worldwide. Some jurisdictions ban crypto trading entirely; others regulate it as securities, commodities, or a separate asset class. |
| Commodity futures | Futures trading is regulated by the CFTC in the US, FCA in the UK, ESMA in the EU, and equivalent bodies elsewhere. Eligibility rules, margin requirements, and leverage limits differ. |
| Leverage limits | Maximum leverage for retail clients varies by jurisdiction. ESMA limits leverage to 1:30 for major forex and 1:10 for commodities. Other jurisdictions allow higher or lower limits. |
We use GeoIP detection (see Section 9) to tailor broker recommendations to your jurisdiction, but we cannot guarantee compliance with every local regulation. It is your responsibility to verify that any financial product or service is legal and available in your jurisdiction before using it.
If you are uncertain about the legality of any financial product in your country, consult a licensed financial advisor or your local financial regulator.
8. Affiliate links and referrals
Commodity.com earns revenue through affiliate partnerships with regulated brokers. For a complete list of our partners and a full explanation of how this works, see our affiliate disclosure.
How it works
- We publish broker reviews and comparison tables on the Site.
- Some links to brokers on this Site are affiliate links. When you click one of these links and subsequently open an account with the broker, we may receive a commission.
- You pay nothing extra. Affiliate commissions are paid by the broker, not by you. Clicking an affiliate link does not change the fees or terms the broker offers you.
What affiliate links do not affect
- Our reviews and rankings. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content, broker ratings, or the order in which brokers appear in our comparisons. Our methodology is documented on the relevant review pages.
- Your relationship with the broker. If you click through to a broker, any account you open, any funds you deposit, and any trades you execute are governed by that broker’s own terms, not ours. We have no access to your broker account and no control over your trading activity.
For more detail, read our full affiliate disclosure.
9. GeoIP and broker matching
When you visit Commodity.com, we use your IP address to determine your approximate location. We currently use IP2Location, a GeoIP database stored on our own server. The specific provider may change over time.
Why we detect your location
We use your detected location for both compliance and commercial purposes:
- Regulatory compliance. We show you only brokers that are licensed and legally permitted to serve your jurisdiction.
- Sanctions compliance. Financial regulations require that broker referrals comply with international sanctions. We do not refer users in sanctioned jurisdictions to brokers that cannot legally serve them.
- Appropriate risk warnings. Different jurisdictions require different risk disclosures. Your detected location determines which regulatory warnings you see.
- Relevant broker recommendations. We show brokers that accept clients in your country, which also means we show brokers with whom we have affiliate relationships in your region. This is both a compliance function and a commercial one – we are upfront about that.
Limitations
- GeoIP detection is based on your IP address and determines your approximate location only – not your precise location.
- If you use a VPN, your detected location may not match your actual location. Broker matching may be inaccurate as a result.
- While we make reasonable efforts to show you brokers appropriate for your jurisdiction, we cannot guarantee that every broker recommendation is compliant with your local regulations. It remains your responsibility to verify a broker’s licensing before opening an account.
For more detail on how we handle location data, see our privacy policy.
10. Content limitations and disclaimers
Commodity.com publishes articles, guides, broker reviews, commodity price data, charts, and other informational content. All content is subject to the following limitations:

- Content may become outdated. Markets move, regulations change, and broker offerings evolve. Information that was accurate at the time of publication may not reflect current conditions.
- Opinions are not recommendations. Any opinions expressed in articles or reviews are the author’s own and do not constitute investment recommendations.
- Risk warnings apply to all content. Any discussion of commodities, trading strategies, financial instruments, or broker services is subject to the disclaimers in Section 5 and our legal disclaimers page.
We reserve the right to modify, update, or remove any content on the Site at any time without notice.

- We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party websites or their content, privacy policies, or practices.
- Accessing a third-party website through a link on our Site is at your own risk.
- Your use of any third-party website is governed by that website’s own terms of use and privacy policy, not ours.
- We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or reliability of any third-party content.
This applies to all external links, including affiliate links to brokers (see Section 8).
13. Widgets
Commodity.com may from time to time make widgets or embeddable tools available for use on third-party websites. If we do, the following terms apply:

- We reserve the right to require removal of any widget from any website at our discretion.
- Widget data is subject to the same limitations described in Section 6 and Section 10.
- We are not responsible for how widgets are displayed or used on third-party websites.
14. Intellectual property
All content on Commodity.com – including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, data compilations, charts, software, and the overall design and arrangement of the Site – is the property of Moneda Media LLC or its content suppliers and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
- “Commodity.com” and associated logos are trademarks of Moneda Media LLC.
- Third-party trademarks, service marks, and logos (including broker brand names and logos) are the property of their respective owners and are used on this Site for identification purposes only.
- Commodity price data displayed on the Site is sourced from third-party providers (see Section 6) and may be subject to their own licensing terms.
Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the Site’s intellectual property beyond the limited license in Section 11.
15. Copyright infringement (DMCA)

This process follows the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. section 512). Incomplete notices may not be actionable. If you knowingly misrepresent that material on this Site infringes your copyright, you may be liable for damages under Section 512(f) of the DMCA.
